HOLOSOUND NYC

Holosound is Noah Becker and Alex Fish. Based in Brooklyn, New York, the duo.s influences range from classic acts such as Kraftwerk to modern heavy-hitters Tiefschwarz, Jamies Zabiela, and John Digweed. They also hold a special place in their hearts for anyone who can take a moody vocal and twist it into a tech-house banger. Their productions, as do their DJ sets, strike from all angles, with smatterings of electro, tech, and progressive house.

Alex has a keen ear and sense of direction for tracks and live sets he began cultivating after a trip to Israel in 1993. After honing his DJ skills at Trinity College in Hartford, CT at both local venues and college events, Alex traveled to Europe for the summer. While in Amsterdam, he was asked to spin back-to-back shows at local nightclub, TIME. One of the clubs residents, Danny D, had met Alex at a local record store. Upon his return to the U.S., Alex relocated to Los Angeles, where he quickly secured a summer residency at popular after hours club, Avant Gardens. The momentum from this successful residency led to a number of other gigs at venues such as North, 9000 Lounge, and The Belmont Supper Club, as well as appearances at UCLA.s legendary Alice in Wonderland parties. Alex expanded his reach within California with several appearances at Euphoria Dreams. Edge parties in San Francisco, and also played alongside Dave Dresden (of Motorcycle and Gabriel and Dresden) at Los Angeles. Toro Club.

Alex was introduced to Noah by a mutual friend at 2004.s Winter Music Conference in Miami. Prior to that, Noah had been developing his production and engineering skills as an assistant to Orange Factory.s Robert Larow and Jeremy Skaller. Currently, Noah co-produces, programs, and engineers tracks for Crobar (NY) resident DJ Boris in his Brooklyn studio. His work with Boris includes .House of Jupiter., by Casey Stratton, which hit #1 on Billboard.s dance club play chart and remained on the chart for over 20 weeks. He also did an exclusive remix of Loleatta Hollaway.s .Crash Goes Love. for Boris. newest mix compilation Boris Unleashed.

As a DJ, Noah has been playing all over NYC since 2002 as a resident for both Gaslight Events and Juiced Promotions. He was featured at Coral Room.s 1st Anniversary DJ Showcase, and has played at numerous venues such as Joe.s Pub, Halcyon, Coda, the former Spread, Opium Den, Favela, the Lounge at Show, Spring 203 Lounge, and many others. At these venues, Noah has had the opportunity to play with true American pioneers such as Frankie Bones, Adam X, Heather Hart, Joey Beltram, and Joseph Natoli (of the Atomic Babies). Before his time in New York, Noah co-founded Gottagetdown Productions at Emory University in Atlanta, and subsequently threw successful events at the Riviera, Karma, Fuel, Kaya, Chili Pepper/Euphoria, and The Vault, some of the area.s top clubs.

Prior to their meeting, Noah had been looking for someone to work with on underground music whilst retaining the clean and tasteful production style he had learned while working at Orange Factory. Alex.s discerning and critical ear made him the ideal collaborator. Their musical connection was instant, and Alex moved to NYC in the fall of 2004 to take this budding partnership to the next level.

Currently, they host a biweekly radio show on Mercury Nation that airs on Wednesday nights from 9-11 CST and Frisky Radio has broadcast their WMC, April, June and August Promos. They are thrilled to be Featured Artists for the week of September 27th and are constantly looking to other mediums to expand their exposure and initiate as many people as possible into the world of groovy and sometimes soulful electro-tinged house.

Comfortable on the decks as well as in the studio, Alex and Noah can be seen as residents for Juiced Promotions. epic CITRIC parties, most recently holding down a fall residency at the legendary Sin Sin nightclub in New York's Lower East Side.

House music and culture has played a marked and defining role in each of these gentleman.s lives and despite scattered murmurs of electronic music being obsolete, HOLOSOUND feels the future is brighter than ever. As they enter the second half of 2005, both Alex and Noah look forward to broadening their reach within the house scene and producing tracks that last for more than the blink of an eye.
